MICROLOUVRE™ SCREENS
Intentionally designed to be installed passively to the building’s facade, MicroLouvre™ absorbs and dissipates solar heat, rather than inefficiently reflecting sunlight like many current forms of solar control. MicroLouvre™ screens also provide protection and privacy from the outside whilst maintaining perfect vision out, providing 100% pure, full colour rendered (CRI), unfiltered daylight for the occupants.

EASY TO INTEGRATE AND RETRO-FIT
The standard framing is anodised or polyester powder coated aircraft grade aluminium. The corners of the frames have concealed internal reinforcing members inserted so as to secure all corners neatly and firmly together. Top and bottom frames are pre-bowed as required to reduce deflection to a minimum due to screen tension. All fasteners, anchors and hardware are comprised of robust, corrosion resistant materials. The frames are designed to receive continuous anti-vibration wedge in each side, all correctly assembled to ensure tautness and to maintain panel integrity, even at wind speeds in excess of 100mph.

FIRE PERFORMANCE
MicroLouvre™ Screens achieve A1 / A2-s1,d0 Fire Rating to BSEN 13501-1:2007+A1:2009. They are one of very few external solar shading options and the only whole full window covering to meet the existing and incoming legislations for external products on high rise buildings, plus are now used extensively in bush fire areas.
LIGHTWEIGHT
MicroLouvre™ Metal Fabric only weighs just over 1 kg (2.43lbs) per square metre and the complete screen can weigh as little as 2.4 kgs (5.3 lbs) a fraction of the weight of traditional external systems. Because they are so light, MicroLouvre™ screens can be easily fitted to any application with minimal intrusion which does not necessarily compromise the building envelope.
HURRICANE PROOF
The very light weight combined with a Clear Open Area (COA) of 80% means that there is very little surface area resistance which is why MicroLouvre™ screens can withstand Cat 2 Hurricane / 100+ mph winds making it suitable for any form of external screening for sun, light, privacy and security, lighting glare, signs etc.
External roller or Venetian blind systems have to be retracted to avoid damage in even moderate winds - which is a major problem especially in high rise buildings - leaving the building unprotected from solar heat and glare. Fortunately, passive MicroLouvre™ screens remain permanently in situ providing effective solar protection in all winds and weather.
Mechanical fixings can be kept to a minimum or if non penetrative fixings are required, with the famous 3M VHB® tape or Dual-Lock® velcro.
DURABLE
MicroLouvre Screens are still in full use on low and high-rise buildings over 40 years after they were first installed. They are maintenance free and require minimal servicing.
