Woven in the UK, KoolShade® is the world’s thinnest and lightest louvre system

Intentionally designed to be installed passively on the building facades, KoolShade® absorbs and dissipates solar heat, rather than inefficiently reflecting sunlight like many current forms of solar control. KoolShade® screens also provide protection and privacy from the outside whilst maintaining perfect vision out and providing 100% pure, full colour rendered (CRI) daylight for the occupants.

Standard framing options

The standard framing is anodised or polyester powder-coated aircraft-grade aluminium. The corners of the frames have concealed internal reinforcing members inserted to secure all corners neatly and firmly together. Top and bottom frames are pre-bowed to reduce deflection to a minimum due to screen tension. All fasteners, anchors and hardware are made of robust, corrosion-resistant materials. The frames are designed to receive continuous anti-vibration wedges on each side, all correctly assembled to ensure tautness to maintain panel integrity, even at wind speeds of more than 100mph.

A result of decades of extensive international research and development, MicroLouvre® is a high-performance, woven metal fabric, with its weft constructed of bronze louvres. Window covering screens are constructed by tensioning the fabric in aluminium framing and with all fasteners, anchors and hardware comprised of robust non-combustible materials.

The micro-fine louvres are angled to suit a number of applications; it ensures optimum light in, and visibility out, whilst reflecting heat and providing protection from flame penetration, flying embers and burning debris.

Fully A1/A2 non-combustible and when tested by CSIRO achieved a 49.4% attenuation. With micro louvres spaced just 1.2mm apart, our screens provide protection to AS3959 up to BAL-FZ, plus complete solar shading and fire protection of a whole window up to BAL-19.
